The Owasso chapter of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Tulsa has presented a $1,0000 check to Owasso Community Resources.
This is a part of OCR's Capital Campaign to keep the organization up and running and to help those in need.Part of these funds will go toward the Community Bridge Project, which started two months ago when a family had a need.OCR is now on its third project, providing a fence for an older couple.
| North said the projects will include basic home repair and maintenance for those who can't because of physical limitations or finances. She said some churches have stepped up to help as well."We coordinate the projects as they come in," she said. "The homebuilders and other Owasso citizens are helping foot the bill."It beautifies the city and helps citizens in need."She said the main objectives of OCR are to help with such things as utilities, transportation, prescription co-pays and food from the food pantry."Our funds and food pantry are low and about gone as far as meeting emergencies," North said."The phone rings off the hook with need, but not so much with donations."Stuart Gallagher, president of the local chapter of the homebuilders association, said the organization gave a donation last year and thought it was a good thing."When you give, it spurs others to give," he said.
