The Cultural Connection tonight will feature an evening of foods, drama, dance and song in the Mary Glass Performing Arts Center on the high school campus.
The Food Connection will be from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. in the high school commons. Dinner will be $5 each.American Indian, Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican and Italian food will be served. The Performance Connection part will be from 7-9 p.m. in the performing arts center and will feature a multicultural performance. The admission cost will be just one non-perishable food item per person. These items will go to benefit the Owasso Community Resources food bank. The evening of performances will open with a Cherokee flutist followed by a storyteller, Choogie Kingfisher. The African American Club at the high school will have as its special guest the Tulsa McLain choir along with a dramatization. The Spanish Club will feature the Ramon Rivera Band. The Native American Student Association will feature intertribal song and dance. Organizers invite the community to become involved in sharing community diversity with the program, celebrate human expression and to fill the food bank at the resource center all in the same evening's entertainment.
